Momylia's Kitchen - Wonton Soup

Just learned how to make this and my family loves it.

Ingredients

For the wontons:

1 lb ground chicken

2 Tbs Soy sauce

2 tsp Sesame oil

2 tsp grated Ginger

2 cloves of Garlic, minced

2 Tbs chopped green onions

Salt

Pepper

Wonton wrappers

For the soup:

8 cups Chicken broth

2 Tbs Soy sauce

2 tsp Sesame oil

2 tsp grated Ginger

2 cloves of Garlic, minced

Salt and Pepper to taste

chopped green onions, to garnish

*Optional* bok choy or greens of choice

Directions

Prepare the filling

1. Combine the ground chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, salt and pepper.

Prepare the wontons

1. Place a small spoon full in the center of the wonton wrapper. About 1/2 tsp.

2. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold into a triangle and pinch to seal.

3. Bring the two corners together and press to create the classic wonton shape.

4. Repeat until all wontons are assembled. I usually set up a cutting board and lay 6-9 wrappers out at a time and use a small bowl of water for sealing.

Make the soup

1.In a pot heat a little oil. Saute ginger and garlic for 1/2-1 minute

2. Add broth, soy sauce and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer

3. Optional this is where you can add bok choy or any greens if you use them

Cook the wontons

1.Set up a second pot of water and bring to a boil

2. Gently drop wontons into water, in batches, and cook 4-5 minutes until fully cooked. Remove wontons to serving bowls. Continue until all wontons are cooked.

3. Ladle soup over top of wontons, serve and enjoy!!

I use reference for my recipe from this pin and this silly girl's kitchen
