Momylia's Kitchen - Egg drop soup
My first time making egg drop soup I followed the recipe and instructions from Mommy Musings. I plan to make this more and eventually make my own recipe from this.
Ingredients
10 cups chicken broth, set aside 1 cup
2 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
4 eggs, whipped
Green onions, sliced
Directions
1. Set aside 1 cup of chicken broth
2. Add remaining broth to warming pot. Add in ginger, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix well
3. Mix cornstarch into the cup of reserved chicken broth, mix well and set aside until ready to use.
4. In a bowl whisk together 4 eggs.
5. Slice green onions
6. When soup is boiling add in cornstarch mixture, and add about 2-4 Tbs of slice green onions. (Depending on your preference.) Bring back to a rolling boil.
7. Once its at a rolling boil slowly and carefully pour in the whipped eggs as you slowly stir the soup with a non-slotted spoon in one direction. The eggs cook as soon as it is in the soup.
8. Salt and pepper to taste. Top with more green onions, soy sauce or a little sesame oil if you like. Enjoy!!
