Momylia's Kitchen ~ Mashed Potatoes
The mashed potato recipe I came up with about 16 years ago.
Ingredients
5 lbs of potatoes, I used yellow
Minced Garlic
Salt
48 oz Chicken Broth
1 stick of butter
Pepper
Parsley
Optional toppings
Gravy
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Bacon Bits
Green Onions
Sour Cream
~Directions~
1. Wash and dice up potatoes and place in stock pot or dutch oven.
2.Add salt. Might have to add more to taste later. Add desired amount of garlic.
3.Pour 48 oz of chicken broth over potatoes. Until barely covered.
4.Heat over medium heat.
5. Stir constantly to prevent sticking and burning. Bring the potatoes to a boil, and cook until fork tender.
6. Add a stick of butter, and mix.
7. Mash. I use a hand mixer, you could also use a stand mixer.
8.Add pepper. You can also add parsley or paprika.
9.Serve and top with your choice of toppings like gravy, cheddar cheese, bacon bits, green onions and or sour cream.
