Momylia's Kitchen ~ Lasagna
INGREDIENTS
1- 2 pound of Italian sausage
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder/ Minced Onion
Italian seasoning
Basil
67 oz. Jar of Pasta Sauce of Choice
1 16 ox box lasagna noodles
32 oz. container Ricotta Cheese
6-8 cups Mozzarella
6 oz. Parmesan Cheese
2 eggs (optional)
~Directions~
1.Set a pot of water on to boil.
2.While you wait for water to boil cook Italian sausage together over medium-high heat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and italian seasoning. Cook through until browned , breaking the meat into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess oil.
3.While the water is coming to a boil and the meat is cooking, Combine the ricotta cheese, 2 cups of Mozzarella, 1 cup of Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, basil in a mixing bowl. Season to taste, then mix in eggs (if you use them) and set aside.
4.Once meat is browned add a cup or two of pasta sauce (no more than half of the jar) and mix
5.Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
6.Once water is boiling add lasagna noodles, stir and cook until al dente. Strain.
7.Oil a 9x13 baking dish.
8.Layer about 1 cup of pasta sauce, then one layer of lasagna noodles, then layer 1/2 of cheese mixture, 1/2 of meat mixture, another layer of lasagna noodles, remaining cheese mixture, last of meat sauce final layer of lasagna noodles. Top with remaining pasta sauce, sprinkle of parmesan cheese, and cover with desired amount of mozzarella. Cover with foil.
9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbling. After 20-25 minutes remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is fully melted or until it begins to brown.
10.Let rest about 10 minutes after taking out of the oven before you cut into it, and enjoy!!
